Published by the Güven Education and Health Foundation, this book is the result of a collaboration between the Güven Health Group—which stands out for its history spanning over half a century, its understanding of healthcare services meeting international standards, and its evidence-based medical approach—and Ufuk University Dr. Rıdvan Ege Hospital, which creates value through its academic depth, scientific research capacity, and educational vision.

Prepared with contributions from specialist physicians and academics across various disciplines, this work integrates theoretical knowledge with clinical practice, offering a comprehensive and up-to-date perspective on emergency medicine—one of the most dynamic fields in healthcare. GÜVENin Magazine, published by the Güven Education and Health Foundation, consists of reliable articles and interviews written by specialist physicians and healthcare professionals in the field of health, and began publication in December 2019.

With its fifth issue published in August 2022, GÜVENin Magazine became “Turkey's First Interactive Health Magazine,” setting a precedent in digital publishing.

As of its eighth issue published in April 2025, the journal is published in five languages—Turkish, English, Russian, French, and Arabic—strengthening its international accessibility and visibility.

Our scientific journal, which we call the Guven Medical and Health Sciences Journal, started its publication life in January 2024.

The medical community agrees on the importance and value of bringing together information on a subject. Congresses, books and journals serve this purpose, namely the collection and dissemination of information.

Among scientific articles, the type called compilation is the bringing together of the author's own knowledge and experience, also by benefiting from many sources.

The importance of both physicians and readers reaching this up-to-date information in detail from a single article is obvious.

Publishing the first issue of a new Medical and Health Sciences journal involves many challenges.

We would like to thank our authors who accepted our invitation and sent their articles in this first issue for their efforts in bringing the journal to life.

In our age of information explosion, we wish this journey to be long-lasting with the mission of encouraging the discussion of forward-looking visions in science and capturing promising points for future research by assimilating the past.
