The show “If Time Hadn't Stopped There” is a one-woman musical documentary by Pınar Ayhan, telling an unheard of history... Tickets are free and unnumbered. You can contact the Governorship for ticket supply. “But how little we know about our past, my dear...” These sentences come from the mouth of Pınar Ayhan, who narrates the critical moments of the Republic of Turkey's recent past and the heroes who are very precious to this land, but have remained hidden, on stage like a fairy tale. Pınar Ayhan, as a storyteller, turns the dusty pages of history in her one-woman musical documentary show “If Time Had Stopped There” and tells us about the events that have happened in these lands but have not been told much, about the heroes, most of whom we have never met, and takes us by the hand and takes us on a tour of a living museum. In the show, we will hear about the adventure of the Black Sea Ferry, which traveled around the world for 86 days and introduced the three-year-old young Republic of Turkey to the world, about the Anzacs who came to Çanakkale from the other side of the world to die in a war that was not theirs, about the crazy story of the Özsoy Opera, which most of us will perhaps hear for the first time, about the Village Institutes, which we wonder how we lost, about the love stories of the poets whose poems we read and songs we sing, which we have never heard of, and we will read the letters they wrote to their lovers. We will witness real events, experiences and sections of our history, which Pınar Ayhan tells like a fairy tale, which are left between the lines, which astonish us when we hear them, but which for some reason we know very little about, which we say “how come we have never heard these things from anyone”. All of them are from real life, without lies, complete, surplus, as it is...Each story comes to life in Pınar Ayhan's body and finds voice with songs and folk songs.
